Denmark and Sweden are both EU members, so non-EU-resident visitors can reclaim the 25% standard VAT charged on outlet purchases: Denmark's customs authority requires goods worth more than DKK 300, Sweden's requires at least SEK 200, and in both countries the goods must leave the EU within three months of the purchase month. Norway works differently. It sits outside the EU and outside the EU VAT area, even though it belongs to the EEA and Schengen, so its 25% merverdiavgift is reclaimed through a separate, Norway-only tourist refund scheme that, per Norwegian tax-refund guides, does not extend to residents of Sweden, Denmark, or Finland. By store count, Stockholm Quality Outlet in Barkarby, just outside Stockholm, is described by Swedish sources as the country's largest outlet centre, with around 70 stores.
